Poda in Slovakia



Pódafa is a village in southwest Slovakia (earlier Hungary). Pódafa in Hungarian means Póda village. In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1380. It's name become from the Póda family name becouse they owned the village. The village in 1940 was merged with other villages and renamed to Pódatejed (Hungarian) - Povoda (Slovak).
